Directing

At the core of each story is a something that can’t quite be answered, a “dark knot” as a professor of mine once described it. It’s around the exploration of this tied knot that a story revolves. I want an audience member who sees my work to think about this exploration long after they leave the theater. Whether this be in a comedy or drama, outdoor or indoor, immersive or traditionally staged. All of it revolves around a great question. But by no means is theater created alone. I believe in being as deeply collaborative with my creative team, actors, and administrators as possible to create the greatest outcome. By leveraging our combined talents, I want to create that same feeling of wonder and thought that I had as a kid discovering theater. I fell into the story, and I never really found my way out.
